Background Information:

Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software and story telling tool for exploring and sharing ideas on a virtual canvas. Adam Solami-Fischer is an architect and has been working with zooming presentation software since 2001. In 2007 a professor named Peter Halacsy from the Budapest University of Technology convinced Adam to produce a prototype of the Zoom User Interface (ZUI) that can be publicly accessed. Once they finished the development of the prototype they hired Peter Avrai as a CEO to help launch the finished product and company.  Prezi was launched in April 2009. 


Facts:

• Used for public speaking and presentations, Prezi is commonly used as a replacement for Power Point. 

• Prezi has been mentioned by several notable media organizations.
• Prezi has been criticized, people have said it can cause nausea because of its lack of change.

Features:

• Prezi Desktop- Allows people to work off-line and save remotely to their own Windows, Mac or Linux system.
• Prezi Meeting- Allows people to share a presentation with 10 people and allows the people to edit it in real time.
• Prezi Veiwer for iPad- An app has been developed for viewing prezis that are created on ones online Prezi account.  The iPad's Multi-touch user interface enables the user to pan, or pinch zoom in or out on certain things.

Instagram

It’s a quick, easy and fun way to share pictures you take off of your iPhone with friends and family.

Tale a picture, choose a effect to personalize the feel and look, then post it to Instagram. There is also a share feature which allows you share to Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr too – it's as east as clicking a button. It's photo sharing, remodeled.



This is a way to share pictures and capture events that are occuring in real time. Basically its just like twitter only its not status' its pictures.

Its not usually used for business, advertisments or news just because Instagram is an app for just the iPhone. You cannot access instagram from the internet or a driod smartphone. Instagram is used  mostly for recreation, entertainment and sociallizing.

This could be abused by the people on the sites posting mean or innapropriate pictures onto the website.

Facebook

Facebook
Founded by Mark Zuckerberg Facebook with his college roommates and fellow students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Huges. The Web site's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. This website was established so that people can communicate from all over, different schools, towns, countries, and social groups. Facebook is a great way to get intouch with people and reunite old flames if thats what you would like to do with it. Its another a place to express yourself and show people who you really are. You can also share events that you have experienced. People can share their relationship status, age, birthday, sexual preference, cell phone number and email address.


This technology, like twitter, could be abused and could be potentially harmful. There are so many things that could happen on Twitter that can hurt people. Some things that can be hurtful and bad are;

• Racial Slurs
• Bullying
• Discrimination
• Bad Pictures
• Mean Comments About People
• Viruses
• Threats
• ETC

These things can be harmful to the people that use Facebook and to the people that produve these terrible things. The people that these things effect can go as far as commiting suicide. There have people many instances not just on Facebook that people have taken the mean and disrespectful things said , and taken them to heart and hurt themselves. The people who said the mean and disrespectful things have been taken so far that they have been criminally charged.

It can also be a good thing. Examples are:

• Advertisments for businesses
• Celebrity Publicity
• Fun Facts

These things are good for mostly businesses, big, small and individual. They can post speacials that they're doing with sales, etc. They can also post pictures and articles about the things they have done.  For example a bakery can post pictures of cakes they have designed and people can see the things they are capable of and they can come in and ask questions. Celebrities have fan pages so that their fans can post things and they can get "likes" which is pretty much a number of how many people like them, Its that simple. Some people have pages about common interest for example, one page i follow on Facebook is a "Fun Fact" page and it just has all facts about random and cool stuff.

Twitter

Twitter

Twitter, like any other social networking site, is beign used by so many people.

There are so many uses for twitter. It could be used for business, entertainment, educational, social, news and recreational uses.  Twitter was founded in San Francisco, California by Jakc Dorsey, Noah Glass, Evan Williams and Biz Stone. The website was launched on July 15, 2006. In June 2011 there were over 360 million users on Twitter.Twitter is used worldwide. Twitter is like a blog but can only have posts with a max of 140 characters. You can post anything you would like to. You can post sentences and you can also post pictures. You can follow people, be followed, block, mention and retweet people. When you mention someone you would write in your psot " @RosemarieSabino is pretty " and it would show up on that persons twitter "connection" page. Once that person recieves that, if they like it (which is usually why) they can retweet it. Theres a button and it looks like a recycling emblem and you click it then it will show up on your twitter page as " @RosemarieSabino is pretty " and under it, it will say in green " Retweeted". There are so many ways to connect on Twitter.
