This website was established so that people can communicate from all over, different schools, towns, countries, and social groups. Facebook is a great way to get intouch with people and reunite old flames if thats what you would like to do with it. Its another a place to express yourself and show people who you really are. You can also share events that you have experienced. People can share their relationship status, age, birthday, sexual preference, cell phone number and email address.
This technology, like twitter, could be abused and could be potentially harmful. There are so many things that could happen on Twitter that can hurt people. Some things that can be hurtful and bad are;

These things can be harmful to the people that use Facebook and to the people that produve these terrible things. The people that these things effect can go as far as commiting suicide. There have people many instances not just on Facebook that people have taken the mean and disrespectful things said , and taken them to heart and hurt themselves. The people who said the mean and disrespectful things have been taken so far that they have been criminally charged.
It can also be a good thing. Examples are:

These things are good for mostly businesses, big, small and individual. They can post speacials that they're doing with sales, etc. They can also post pictures and articles about the things they have done. For example a bakery can post pictures of cakes they have designed and people can see the things they are capable of and they can come in and ask questions. Celebrities have fan pages so that their fans can post things and they can get "likes" which is pretty much a number of how many people like them, Its that simple. Some people have pages about common interest for example, one page i follow on Facebook is a "Fun Fact" page and it just has all facts about random and cool stuff.
