Prezi

Background Information:
Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software and story telling tool for exploring and sharing ideas on a virtual canvas. Adam Solami-Fischer is an architect and has been working with zooming presentation software since 2001. In 2007 a professor named Peter Halacsy from the Budapest University of Technology convinced Adam to produce a prototype of the Zoom User Interface (ZUI) that can be publicly accessed. Once they finished the development of the prototype they hired Peter Avrai as a CEO to help launch the finished product and company.  Prezi was launched in April 2009. 


Facts:
  • Used for public speaking and presentations, Prezi is commonly used as a replacement for Power Point. 
  • Prezi has been mentioned by several notable media organizations.
  • Prezi has been criticized, people have said it can cause nausea because of its lack of change.
Features:
  • Prezi Desktop- Allows people to work off-line and save remotely to their own Windows, Mac or Linux system.
  • Prezi Meeting- Allows people to share a presentation with 10 people and allows the people to edit it in real time.
  • Prezi Veiwer for iPad- An app has been developed for viewing prezis that are created on ones online Prezi account.  The iPad's Multi-touch user interface enables the user to pan, or pinch zoom in or out on certain things.
